Giving gifts to ensure that children have the feeling of being loved, belonging and have that special Christmas joy that every child should wake up with on a Christmas morning. To create a sense of relief and support for parents not only during the Holiday season, but throughout the year. It's always good to know that there are people who will help in a time of need.

This Grass Roots effort started in 1997. A friend of Johnnita Jackson (founder) was distraught because the Christmas season was approaching and she had no funds to get toys and gifts for her five children. Johnnita was really bothered that her single parent friend could not provide her children with a decent Christmas. So Johnnita took the initiative and went to speak with her mother, Vivian Jackson, that evening. Vivian's response to Johnnita was to take down all of the children's clothing and shoe sizes. They went shopping for the five children. Both purchased several toys and outfits for each of them. In the following year, in 1998, that same parent approached Johnnita and said, "I don't know what you did last year to get gifts for my children but I know of a family that is in need of assistance for Christmas and I would like to help." Johnnita took the childrens information, went to her mother, some close friends and relatives and asked them if they would please sponsor a child for Christmas. Unfortunately, the mother of Johnnita, Vivian Jackson, passed the same year. In memory and honor of Vivian's awesome idea that was birthed, Jah's Kids has sponsored 1,901 children and over 40 full families.
